There is a huge need for swimming across Lee County. During our time with no water, I have searched for solutions to give this community a swim program despite the challenges we are facing. Many swim teams across the nation battle the need for water. We are not alone. I have chosen to remain optimistic and place my faith in the Lee County Government as I hope all of you have as well. Our time will come. In the background great things are in the works!
For a first week back in the water things went as well as to be expected. Everyone was pretty tired by the end of the day but I can proudly say we made it through a great workout! I couldn't have been happier to see some of my swimmers again. I have missed our team family so much. I encourage everyone that is able to please come out and join us in the weekends ahead. I know the schedule will not be perfect but I will get as many opportunities as possible available for our swim families around my current work schedule.
This is my potential schedule. If it is highlighted I have a swim meet and depending which sessions of the meets I have to coach at will depend on my availability to coach on those weekends. All other weekends I should be able to do unless another meet, work conflict, or pool rental conflict happens. I'll base our swim times around my practice times on the off meet weekends. I'm doing everything I can to make this possible for our team. For the families on our team that have been with the sport for awhile, I'm sure you know it takes the meet host awhile to get information together. Some of these I may not know until a week or two in advance.

May 11-13 SwimAtlanta Invite-Ga. Tech-Winter Jr cuts-Tentative
May 19-21 Ncac Meet on Hill-Unc-2 A times YBAC Meet-Greensboro-1 or less A time (I will be at a wedding)
Based on this information here is what I have come up with as an outline for the next few weeks. These times are subject to change based on available rental at the pools listed below. The times listed work best for my work schedule.
Feb 11th - Try for TAC at 6pm
Feb 17th - Try for TAC at 8-9am
Feb 25th- Try for Pullen at 5-6 pm
March 4th- Try for TAC at 1-2pm (between my two meet sessions at Pullen)
I'll talk with Lisa Stephens and see what we can get rented. Everyone will have to sign a waiver (Parent or guardian MUST be present at the time of signing) and will need to split the lane rental between everyone going. You only pay $10 per swimmer and payments are done online when you book to attend. It is important that you book to attend before coming because we can only have a certain number of people in a lane at a time. We need a head count before rental takes place.
We are getting closer to my meeting with the county. That should take place next week. As soon as I know more information I will write another blog with the information I am given. Please remain positive throughout this process!
I appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to seeing you soon!
